Justine Lam joins Politicker.com as director of online marketing

The Observer Media Group today announced that it has hired Justine Lam to serve as Director of Online Marketing for Politicker.com.

Lam, who was eCampaign Director of the Ron Paul Presidential campaign, will be responsible for the expansion of the Politicker.com brand and readership through the application of new media and traditional marketing. She will manage all social and grassroots marketing initiatives. She begins her duties as Director of Marketing on June 2, 2008.

McConnell remains confident while Lunsford turns to strategy

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) visited southern Kentucky over the weekend to deliver the opening remarks for the Glasgow Highland Games.

While at the games, McConnell spoke briefly about his race against Democrat Bruce Lunsford. "I think we're in good shape," he said, according to WBKO. "We have a lead, but it's going to be a competitive contest. It's not going to be a cakewalk and I'm ready for it."

Virtual Makeover

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Greg Fischer today announced the relaunch of his campaign website. The revamped site contains more detailed information about Fischer and a state-wide phone bank system that the campaign field staff hopes will enable them to work closely with supporters.

Fischer said the site reflects the campaigns commitment to grassroots support.

"Much like the senate campaign upsets in 2006, we have strong grassroots support who connect with our campaign and each other via the Web and e-mail. Our site will move them into action," said Fischer.

Beshears join President and First Lady at White House

Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear joined President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at a White House state dinner this weekend.

The dinner was among a series of events surrounding Beshear’s visit to Washington for the winter meeting of the National Governor’s Association. President Bush recognized Beshear during his toast of the governors: “I congratulate our two newest governors: Kentucky's Steve Beshear and Lousiana's Bobby Jindal.”
