FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Evelyn C. Tolliver to serve as a member of the State Supported Living Council.
Tolliver is a retired social worker. She worked for 30 years in the Kentucky Cabinet for Families and Children, now called the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Tolliver received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She and her husband, Dennis, reside in Erlanger.
The appointment replaces Lewis Corbin Carter, whose term has expired. Tolliver shall serve for a term expiring July 14, 2010.
The State Supported Living Council is responsible for making recommendations to the Department for Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services for budget and priorities, for fund allocations for supported living services for persons with disabilities within the commonwealth and setting standards for quality assurance for persons with a disability who receive supported living services.
