Governor Beshear Appoints Members to Advisory Board for Veterans’ Affairs

FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed the following members to the Advisory Board for Veterans’ Affairs:

  • Sidney C. Shouse is a postal worker for the U.S. Post Office. He served in the U.S. Army as a material storage and handling specialist. Shouse and his wife, Sandra, reside in Bardstown. He represents the American Legion. The appointment replaces J. T. Whitlock, who is deceased. Shouse shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 25, 2010.
     
  • Paul E. Worthington Jr. is retired from the U.S. Navy. He and his wife, Francine, reside in Greenup. Worthington represents the American Veterans Organization. The appointment replaces Stanley H. Schwartz, whose term has expired. Worthington shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 25, 2008.

The Advisory Board for Veteran’s Affairs consists of seven gubernatorial appointees. Its purpose is to advise the governor, the general assembly and the commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs on matters relating to veterans and the administration of veterans services programs.
