Gov. Beshear Appoints Members to Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services

FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services to serve for terms expiring Sept. 19, 2011:

  • Neal J. Richmond, of Louisville, is chief executive officer for Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Services. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn. Richmond represents physicians having primary practice in the delivery of emergency medical care. The appointment replaces Barbara J. Reynolds, whose term has expired.
     
  • Wenda Owen, of Lexington, is executive vice president for development at Buckhorn Children and Family Services Foundation, Inc. She received her Master of Economics from Middle Tennessee State University. Owen represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces William Ray Miller, whose term has expired.

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services certifies first responders and emergency medical technicians, licenses paramedics and ambulance services and provides the best possible emergency medical services for the commonwealth of Kentucky.
