LOUISVILLE -- As an opponent becomes a former opponent, developer and 3rd U.S. House district candidate Chris Thieneman (R-Louisville) says he hopes today's endorsement from property manager Corley Everett (R-Louisville) will push him over the top in tomorrow's Republican primary.

"The momentum continues to flow in our direction," said Thieneman today. "The votes [Everett] brings just may be the amount we need tomorrow."

What a difference a day makes: Everett to endorse Thieneman

The notorious 'they' say that a day is a lifetime in politics. For one Congressional candidate in the 3rd U.S. House district race in Kentucky, a day is at least enough to decide that "definitely not" instead means "definitely will."

Louisville property manager Corley Everett will, in fact, drop out of the 3rd district race and endorse Republican primary opponent Chris Thieneman just one day after telling PolitickerKY.com he would not.

3rd District Republicans debate in Louisville

LOUISVILLE -- The four candidates for the Republican nomination in the 3rd Congressional District congregated in Louisville on Monday night for their race’s only full-fledged debate prior to the May 20 primary.

For three of the candidates, it was the chance to introduce themselves as contrasts to the race frontrunner - and former holder of the 3rd District seat – Anne Northup. Northup, on the other hand, spent the evening distinguishing herself from the man who unseated her in 2006, incumbent John Yarmuth (D-Louisville).

Property manager Corley Everett, UPS employee Bob Devore, and developer Chris Thieneman – each based out of Louisville – joined Northup on stage Wednesday night for a mostly civil engagement, broadcast live on the KET public television network.
