Lunsford projected to win Democratic Senate primary

Louisville businessman Bruce Lunsford is projected to win the Democratic Senate primary in Kentucky.

Lunsford has collected 51 percent of the vote with 95 percent of precincts reporting, while fellow Louisville businessman Greg Fischer garnered 33 percent.

Perennial candidate David L. Williams has received 5.4 percent while James Rice collected 3.3 percent.

Fischer is expected to speak shortly, and Lunsford will follow.

Lunsford with 25-point lead, but Fischer doubles support

With 21 days left until the Democratic Senate primary, Bruce Lunsford holds a 25 point lead over his nearest opponent in the seven-candidate field, Greg Fischer, according to numbers from the newest SurveyUSA/WHAS poll.

Lunsford now pulls 43 percent support from among the 555 likely voters polled. That figure is down four points from the last poll, released on April 15.

Fischer has doubled his support since the last poll, jumping from 9 to 18 percent.

Lead grows for Lunsford, Clinton in latest SurveyUSA poll

SurveyUSA's latest polls find Louisville businessman Bruce Lunsford and New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton with growing leads atop their respective races. Lunsford's lead in the seven-candidate Democratic Senate primary field grew 5 percent since the last poll by SurveyUSA. That poll gave Lunsford 42 percent support among 572 "likely" Democratic voters.
