The Kentucky Democratic Party quickly filled its open position at Communications Director by hiring Thom Karmik for the position just last week.
Karmik is a Chicago native and veteran of the winning 2007 campaign of Governor Steve Beshear. He also has seven years of experience as a television producer and several stints working as a campaign consultant. His past campaign work includes time with former Chicago Alderman Jesse Granato and former Republican Congressman Jim Durkin during a 2002 bid for the U.S. Senate. Karmik was also Executive Director of Communications for the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Former state party Communications Director Allison Haley left to fill a similar role with the campaign of Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford earlier this month.
