The campaign of Congressman John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) of Kentucky's 3rd District announced it would end the first quarter with a total of nearly $1.1 million raised in the 2008 election cycle.
A release dispatched this afternoon by the campaign said Yarmuth collected 800 new contributions in the 1Q, for a total of 2,800 for the 2008 election cycle. A spokesman from the Yarmuth campaign confirmed the total raised in the 1Q was just over $250,000. Yarmuth now has raised a total of $1,093,205 in this cycle.
In its 2007 year-end report, the campaign reported $659,231 on hand.
In the general election, Yarmuth is expected to face the woman he unseated in 2006, Republican Anne Northup. Her campaign has yet to release official fundraising figures for the 1Q.
