With 21 days left until the Democratic Senate primary, Bruce Lunsford holds a 25 point lead over his nearest opponent in the seven-candidate field, Greg Fischer, according to numbers from the newest SurveyUSA/WHAS poll.
Lunsford now pulls 43 percent support from among the 555 likely voters polled. That figure is down four points from the last poll, released on April 15.
Lunsford's lead in that poll stood at 38 percent.
Fischer has doubled his support since the last poll, jumping from 9 to 18 percent.
Measurements for the new poll were conducted from Saturday, April 26 to Monday, April 28.
Fischer launched a new attack ad against Lunsford on Friday, April 25.
Prospect physician Michael Cassaro saw his support in the SurveyUSA polls dip from 5 to 3 percent. Perennial candidate David L. Williams slipped from 8 to 7 percent support, while David Wylie fell from 3 to 2 percent. Jim Rice dropped from 5 to 4 percent, while Kenneth Stepp jumped up from 1 percent to 4 percent.
Twelve percent of respondents selected "other" in the poll, while the percent who said they were "undecided" fell from 8 to 6 percent.
SurveyUSA is one of the more visible polling firms in Kentucky. They utilize pre-recorded voices and push-button response systems to conduct their polls.
