Fischer's list of endorsements includes one receiving 'stipend' from campaign

The list released yesterday of current and former elected officials endorsing Louisville businessman Greg Fischer's candidacy for the U.S. Senate includes one official receiving a stipend from Fischer's campaign.

Campbell County Democratic Party chairman Ken Mullikin was included in the campaign's list of endorsers yesterday. During April, Mullikin also received over $3,600 from the Fischer campaign.

Fischer spokesman Ken Shapero confirmed Mullikin is "paid a stipend" by the campaign for his role as a regional coordinator for the Fischer.

Shapero also claimed Mullikin's support of Fischer came before he received funds from the campaign.

"He is working for our campaign," said Shapero. "But, I think the endorsement came first...The fact of the matter is that he supports Greg."
