Word from the campaign of Chris Thieneman is that the candidate is waiting out election results for his bid for the Republican nomination in Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District.
"[Thieneman] made a few phone calls this morning," said David Toborowsky, Thieneman's campaign consultant. "We've done all we can do and we'll let the voters decide."
Toborowsky praised the tone of the campaign, which was largely positive once Thieneman revived his candidacy in late April.
"We have given voters the opportunity to make a choice," said Toborowsky. "At least there are three good candidates."
"I think everyone has run a very positive race," said Toborowsky. "The conversation has been a substantive discussion of issues."
As per the results of the race, Toborowsky said "it's anybody's guess."
Thieneman is seeking to defeat former Congresswoman Anne Northup (R-Louisville) and UPS employee Bob Devore (R-Louisville) in the primary. Northup previously held the 3rd District seat for ten years before being upset by now-Congressman John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) in 2006.
"Anne has been around for many years," said Toborowsky. "What will be, will be tonight."
