"My brain is a little fuzzy after running a 6 month campaign in thirty days," said state Senator David Boswell (D-Sorgho) this evening after beating Daviess County Judge/Executive Reid Haire (D-Owensboro) in the 2nd District Democratic primary.
Boswell did not begin serious fundraising for his bid against Haire until the end of Kentucky's legislative session in late March, saying he was adhering to strict ethics legislation he was proposing.
Since then, Boswell's campaign stepped up their fundraising efforts and began a direct mail and radio effort to reach voters.
He says as he moves forward to face state Senator Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) in November, he will push to "put America first" and discuss issues related to health care and the national debt.
Boswell says he will also continue to push his 31 years of experience in state Government as a principal theme of his campaign.
"People look to that as someone who will be able to hit the ground running," said the Democratic nominee.
Boswell noted Haire had called him this evening to offer his "undivided support" in that campaign.
